Section 101 invaded SXSW 2012 from March 9-18th and we are so glad we did! It was non-stop-full-tilt-can’t-slow-down madness from the moment we left New York for Austin, TX, yet an incredible experience for the whole team. We got to panel, exhibit, hear terrific live music, meet a lot of fascinating new people and were able to engage in our passion for creating opportunities for our Section 101 clients who were regally represented in all aspects of SXSW!
Section 101 had a great week in the Exhibit Area in the Austin Convention Center, with heavy foot traffic and lots of people stopping by to say “hi” and check out our platform. I moderated a well attended panel, “Opportunities Others Miss on the Web” that grabbed the attention of people who want to make sure they stay on top of all that is out there for them online.
Section 101 is also one of the founders of the Quantum Collective, a group of like-minded companies who banded together to help promote our various artists and brands. As part of the Collective, we were showcasing every night, with over 120 artists booked at various venues around Austin, including a two day event on the Whole Foods Rooftop. We also helmed the Section 101 Launchpad, a house in downtown Austin where we held networking and music events. We were thrilled to have our amazing Section 101 clients play these events including: Rachael Yamagata, Jenn Bostic, Diane Birch, Haroula Rose, Tommy Burnett and Jimmy Lloyd. Thank you!!!
Making us proud were the Section 101 team – or should I say All Stars – who spent a week in Austin making sure that everyone in Texas knew who Section 101 was and what we do! A big round of applause and gratitude to Jim, Ken, Becky, Katie, Steve, Pauline and Jacques, who worked tirelessly to make sure we were firing on all cylinders.
Stay tuned for a more detailed wrap-up of our adventures of SXSW with some amazing pictures. It was a terrific experience and I can truly say, we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
