Kicking Daisies - Ben Spremulli, Duran Visek, Richie Arthur and Jeff Maurer - are rockers ranging in age from 15 to 19. The band’s big break hit in 2010 when they won Disney Radio’s NEXT BIG THING contest. Individually, the band members bring a musical expertise that belies their age. Ben, a guitar prodigy, has been playing since the age of 10 as a self-taught guitarist. Singer Duran is the main songwriter as well as a multi instrumentalist who has been playing professionally also since the age of 10. Bassist Richie was accepted in to the “School of Rock” at age 7 and became the youngest musician to ever take part in the Bamboozle tour. Drummer Jeff has been playing since age 9, having done session work and performed with many notable musicians such as Justin Bieber and Boys Like Girls. There is no denying how accomplished the band members are considering they’re all still in their teens!
Along with the National exposure winning the Disney competition brought, Kicking Daisies hit the road both on their own and with artists such as Natasha Bedingfield, Allstar Weekend and Paramore. As their fan base continues to grow, Kicking Daisies are excited to be a part of the Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 22nd. The band will be performing in front of 250,000 people at the National Mall in Washington DC alongside British rocker Dave Mason and legendary rock band Cheap Trick. Kicking Daisies take the stage at 12p EST.
